FAUCH HILL WIND FARM - PIONEERING A NEW APPROACH TO GREEN ENERGY

Fauch Hill Sustainable Energy (FHSE) is a renewable energy company within the European Forest Resources Group (EFRG). EFRG is part of the Louis Dreyfus Group, founded in 1851 in France, which has had an active and continuous business presence in the UK for over 125 years.

Our project for a wind farm at West Colzium & Crosswoodburn, West Lothian, has now been submitted to the Scottish Government.

Fauch Hill Wind Farm will consist of 23 turbines with internal transformers, each with a maximum nominal capacity of 3MW, and with a maximum tip height of 125 metres. The total installed capacity will be 69MW, producing enough clean, green electricity to supply over 42,000 homes.

As part of the project FHSE is offering an integrated Community Benefit Package in excess of £7million, which includes:

  • £4,000 per MW installed;
  • a Local Infrastructure Fund equivalent to an additional one year's benefit;
  • to provide an investment plan for members of the community;
  • to pay for facilities and amenities on the Estate to create a strategic access point to the Pentland Hills Regional Park and beyond.

In addition to the project, FHSE will be planting predominantly native broadleaf woodland, which will increase the biodiversity of the Estate.
